David P. Campbell Sr.

David became a founding partner with Thompson Davis & Co. in 2002. At the firm, he has focused his research on global logistics companies and his sales on logistics stock investments to institutional investors.

David started his career in investments in 1962 with the U.S. Trust Co. after serving three years in the U.S. Navy Atlantic fleet destroyer force. In 1965, he launched his institutional sales and research business with Vanden Broeck Lieber & Co. in New York City.

In 1970, David relocated to Richmond to continue his career in sales and research with Wheat & Co. He was there until 1985, when he joined Scott and Stringfellow to help start its institutional sales department. David was involved in both corporate finance and research there until 2000, when he moved to Branch Cabell & Co. He continued in sales and research there until 2002.

David earned his B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and is a graduate of the  U.S. Navy Officers Candidate School. He and his wife live in Richmond, Virginia, where they enjoy spending time with their three children and grandchildren.
